What are absences in Task Manager?
Absences are entries for team members’ leave, sick leave and business trips, shown in the same calendar as tasks and events. This means you can see people’s availability when planning work, before promising anyone a due date - rather than finding out about their leave from an out-of-office reply.
How does it work?
- 01
The person submits an absence with a date range and type (annual leave, sick leave or business trip).
- 02
The entry appears in the team calendar alongside tasks and events.
- 03
When assigning a task, you can see that someone will be away during that period.
- 04
Absences are shown in the same view as workloads.
What do you gain?
Realistic due dates: promises to clients reflect who is actually working.
Fewer surprises: annual leave appears in the calendar, not in an out-of-office reply.
One place: absences are not kept in a separate spreadsheet.
An everyday example
A manager assigns a task for next Thursday. The calendar shows that the assignee is on leave that day, so the task goes to someone else - before the client conversation even takes place.
